Setting Up Bin Codes

What are Bin Codes?

Warehouse bin codes are a system of labeling and organizing inventory in a warehouse. Bincodes are assigned to each physical location in the warehouse where products are stored. These codes are used to track the location of products, optimize storage space, and ensure efficient inventory management.

Bin codes are required when using WolfPak Batch Picking

Eg: This product is located in Zone A, Row 2, Stack 4 on Shelf 9

Area:

This is typically a "zone" in a warehouse. For example, cold storage, overflow, fast picking areas. These can be assigned any letter of the alphabet.

Row:

This is which row of shelving or storage the product is stored in a particular zone. For example, "row 2 of cold storage"

Stack:

Think of these as a stack of shelves, for example - one set of pallet racking, or one "set" of shelving. In a row, you tend to have multiple "stacks" of shelves that are next to each other.

Shelf:

This is which shelf the product is located on a stack. 01 is the shelf closest to the ground, working your way up. There is no limit to the number of shelves you can have.
